This Remembrance Day, pause a moment to remember. There are several significant Remembrance Day services in the City of Calgary and we have collected a few highlights below. You may also find more services at Royal Canadian Legions or community centres in your area. This guide is accurate to the best of our knowledge at the time of writing, but be sure to confirm before heading out.

Canadian Pacific Headquarters
This Remembrance Day ceremony pays tribute to the many CPKC employees who served. The ceremony is open to the public and continues the company’s annual tradition of honouring veterans at CP’s Memorial Square, built to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War. Flags on CPKC property in Canada will be lowered to half-staff in honour of all veterans.

Central Memorial Park
Central Memorial Park’s annual Remembrance Day ceremony includes a Calgary Highlanders military parade around the Cenotaph.

Field of Crosses
Honour those who have fallen at the Field of Crosses virtual Remembrance Day service. You can visit the Field of Crosses from November 1 – 11, 2024, although there is limited viewing on November 10 and 11. There will be a televised Remembrance Day ceremony held at the field at 10:10 am.

The Hangar Flight Museum
Each year on Remembrance Day communities gather to ensure we never forget. The helicopter landing area behind The Hangar Flight Museum was once a parade square during the Second World War as part of the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan. Eagle Copters and Alpine Helicopters have been kind enough to partner with The Hangar Flight Museum to host the service in this space for the past few years. Snow or shine, find a way to remember.
The 2024 service will be in person and on CTV and CTVNewsCalgary.ca at 10:30 am, but please plan to be seated by 10:15 am. The in-person service will be outdoors, so please dress for the weather. Doors open for arrivals at 9:30 am. The Hangar Flight Museum will be open for admissions by cash donation beginning at 12 pm. You can also drop off donations for the Veterans Association Food Bank.

Kings Own Calgary Regiment
The Kings Own Calgary regiment hosts a full unit parade on Remembrance Day, plus smaller services at two locations. Remembrance Day ceremony. See the parade at 137 Battalion Memorial in North Glenmore Park or attend a service at Battalion Park on Signal Hill Dr or the Cochrane Legion.

The Military Museums
Join the Military Museums for Remembrance Day. There will be limited parking available at Master’s Academy. Parking is also available at the Flames Community Arena to the South. Note that access to TMM from the arena is through a pedestrian gate in the arena fence.
Please dress warmly, and plan to arrive early as past events have been well attended. The museum will be open after the service and admission will be by donation. (For those unable to attend, the event is usually live-streamed on The Military Museums Facebook Page beginning at 10:20 am.)

Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium — Royal Canadian Legion
Doors open at 9 am and tickets are available at the door. Tickets are first-come, first-served. In past years, parking has been free, and usually, weather permitting, there is a march past outside on the west side of the building, immediately following the indoor ceremony.

Studio Bell Remembrance Day
Join Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre, on Remembrance Day. Veterans and active service members will receive free admission (tickets can be retrieved in person). There will be a special service at 10:40 am, featuring Central Alberta Chamber Players, world-class bagpiper Bill Hawes, and singer-songwriter Tim Isberg.
