This summer, give them the tools they need and give yourself the peace of mind, with  Kiwanis Safety City Summer Camps.

Kiwanis Safety City Summer Camps help kids acquire the skills and knowledge they need to grow into new roles. Whether you want to ensure they’re ready to cycle safely, stay home alone, or start babysitting, Alberta Safety Council has a camp or course to get them there. Camps are reasonably priced, offer a variety of dates, and make learning fun!

Scooter Sessions
This 1 hour, program teaches children traffic safety in a fun and interactive way by having kids ride battery-operated quads in Safety City. Topics covered include safely crossing the road, and basic traffic rules like traffic lights and street signs.

Cost: $8.40 per participant (including GST)
Time: Sessions run 10:00 am – 11:00 am or 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm on select dates

Kiwanis Safety City

Pedal Pushers Bicycle Program
A 2 day (5 hour) camp for children aged 5 to 8 that will teach the basic fundamentals of cycling and traffic skills. Participants will learn safe riding through practice maneuvers, games and fun activities. This course is for kids who can ride without training wheels.

Cost: $78.75 per participant (including GST)
Time: 5 hours over two days
Dates: July 15-16, 2024 & August 19-20, 2024

Safety City Summer Camps
Pedal Pushers Bicycle Camp
A 5 day (15 hour) camp for children aged 9 to 12 who would like to improve their basic bike riding technique. This fun program for intermediate bikers teaches traffic skills, collision avoidance maneuvers, tour planning, bicycle maintenance, and more. Camp days will include games, safety activities, obstacle courses, and a controlled street and trail excursion. Students will receive a skills report and certificate upon course completion.

Cost: $110.25 per participant (including GST)
Time: Monday to Friday 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Alberta Safety Council Summer Camps

Shaping Our World (S.O.W.) Adventure Camp
A 5 day camp that will introduce topics of pedestrian, home, fire, and playground safety, as well as explore ideas around recycling, conservation, and endangered species. Children ages 6 to 10 will be encouraged to have fun while learning to become safe and environmentally conscious. Activities may include a Fire Station tour, Tie Dye, and a Scooter ride.

Cost: $157.50 per participant (including GST)
Time: Monday to Friday 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Camp Dates: July 8-12, 2024 & August 12-16, 2024

Alberta Safety Council Summer Camps

Babysitting Course
This 1-day course helps young adults (aged 12+) learn to babysit with confidence. Included in the program are themes of prevention, assertiveness, and resourcefulness, as well as basic safety and first aid.

Cost: $54.60 per participant (including GST)
Time: 9:30 am – 3:30 pm
Dates: July 5, August 9 & August 28, 2024

Home Alone Course
This half day course will help kids aged 10 and older understand how to prevent problems, handle real-life situations, and be safe and responsible when home alone for short periods of time.

Time: 9:30 am – 12:00 pm
Dates: July 4, August 8 & August 27, 2024
