Arts District Day

Experience the first-ever Arts District Day, a free block-party-style celebration of creativity, community, and culture on Saturday, March 14, 2026. Explore Edmonton’s top arts destinations – the Art Gallery of Alberta, Winspear Centre, and Citadel Theatre – as they come alive with interactive experiences, pop-up performances, hands-on activities, and creative displays for all ages. Wander between venues, discover something new, and enjoy the vibrant energy of the downtown Arts District with your family.

Pick up your Art Hop Passport at any of the three venues, collect stickers at each station as you explore, and when your passport is full, enter online for a chance to win exciting prizes!

Art Gallery of Alberta

Join an exhibition tour (up to 20 people per timeslot; no need to register ahead). Enjoy a concert series and take part in hands-on art activities in the gallery foyers, including poster-making and mixed-media sculpting. Listen to jazz performers, Littlebirds, from 3 to 4 pm, and see Jed and the Valentine from 4:30 to 6 pm (these are ticketed events). Citadel Theatre

Enjoy a drop-in community choir, face painting, balloon art, and roaming magicians. The Edmonton Public Library will also be there with activities like robot coding and animated colouring sheets. You can catch a matinee of The Wizard of Oz (tickets required), and try special menu items at the Playwright Restaurant or treats from the Ghostlight Café.
