Ride the Canyon Alpine Coaster in Red Deer!

There are even more reasons to take a road trip to Red Deer this summer with the opening of the all new Canyon Alpine Coaster at Canyon Ski Resort! Our family has previously enjoyed the thrill of riding the Pipe Mountain Coaster at Revelstoke Mountain Resort so we are very excited to see another alpine coaster being built closer to home! This coaster is the first and only one of it’s kind in Alberta, and is the perfect way for the whole family to come experience some fun on the ski hill in the summer season!

The Canyon Alpine Coaster follows a 1300 meter track that will take you in and out of the ski slope and forest trails of Alberta’s Largest non-mountain Ski Resort. Riders will be able to reach speeds of 40 km per hour with plenty of twists and turns leading them down an overall 440 foot vertical drop down the hill. The attraction is open to ages 3 and up, with younger tots joining in the fun by riding tandem with a responsible rider 16+. Each cart comes equipped with it’s own brake to allow riders to control their own speed to travel comfortably down the luge track.
