Farmers’ Market season is upon us and the Southwest Edmonton Farmers’ Market is happy to be bringing back their Sprouts kids program! Each Wednesday kids aged 4-12 are encouraged to visit the Sprouts tent to receive a wooden token worth $2 to spend at fruit and vegetable vendors at the market. It’s free for kids to join and has been designed to empower children to make healthy food and lifestyle choices.
A new kid-friendly recipe card will also be available each week featuring seasonal ingredients found in the market. Kids will be encouraged to bring that produce back into their own kitchens and hopefully learn new and valuable cooking skills!
