Put away your wallet – the City of Edmonton offers FREE drop-in public skating for citizens who want to take a spin around an indoor rink! Dates, times and locations vary  – you can see the weekly schedule by clicking HERE.

There are a few rules to know before you go. Helmets are recommended, but not required. Sticks, pucks, ball, sleds and strollers are not allowed on the ice. Children 7 or under must be supervised by a responsible person 13 years of age or older.

There are free skating sessions that are open to all participants, as well as some specialized sessions, including: Parent & Tot (for parents and kids aged 5 or under), Older Adult Public Skating, Public Figure Skating, Early Morning Fitness Public Skating for adults 18+, and Early Morning Public Skating. There are also special times set aside for Member Skating, Member Figure Skating, Adult Shinny and Child/Youth Shinny.

Have a kid aged 6-12 that could use a refresher on those skating skills? The City also offers FREE Drop-In Learn To Skate Lessons at some of the outdoor community rinks!
