Mask-up and get ready for another year of Glow Edmonton at the Edmonton Expo Center! This spectacular indoor lights experience has become a holiday tradition for Edmonton families, with so many great things to keep coming for back year after year. Glow 2021 kicks off on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 and runs Wednesdays – Sundays through January 2, 2022. The theme of this year’s Glow light festival is Santa’s Crashed Sleigh and includes some new and exciting activities alongside all the usual festival favourites.

You’ll want to be sure your phone is fully charged so you can take selfies galore in front of all the stunning light displays. Surround yourself with the million twinkling bulbs in the light gardens, swing on the ever-popular moon shaped LED swings, take a stroll through the brilliant light tunnel, and strike a pose in one of the hanging pictures frames. These are just a few of the many dazzling features Glow has to offer!

Glen the Glow-comotive at Glow YEG

Parents and kids alike will be thrilled to see Glen the Glow-comotive and hop aboard for a leisurely trackless train ride journey through the enchanted frosty snowman park. Afterwards, be sure to head over to the Magic Castle playground where kids can climb, slide, and create your own adventure in a safe and secure environment.

And, of course, no visit to Glow is complete without seeing the big man himself — Santa Claus! But Santa needs your help! Remember that Crashed Sleigh we mentioned above? Watch what happens in the all new Santa’s Sleigh Adventure show and then help locate all the scattered reindeer in a massive maze as you make your way to Santa. Find them all and win a prize! Then reward yourself with a covid-safe visit as you let Santa know everything on your Christmas wish list.

Glow Holiday Festival of Lights

On the Glow Stage, guests of all ages can look forward to the wide variety of musical acts and live entertainment. Enjoy magic, ventriloquism, live music and a Rockin Reindeer Bash! Let the joyful Christmas tunes put you in the holiday spirit as you peruse the Merry Makers Market. You’ll find over 60 local vendors offering one-of-a-kind items that are great for stocking stuffers, presents under the tree, and maybe even a little something for yourself.

Feeling a bit hungry? Satisfy your family with a visit to the Candy Cane Cafe, or one of the onsite food trucks. Poutine, tacos, burgers and hot dogs are just a sample of the yummy foods available for purchase. Be sure to top it off with a sweet treat like mini donuts, ice cream, or caramel apples. Or toast the season with the wide selection of festive warm and cold drinks – in a signature souvenir Glow cup!

Glow Holiday Festival of Lights

Featuring 90,000 sq ft of twinkling lights and magical holiday displays, Glow has been thoughtfully set up to offer plenty of room to keep guests safely distanced and warm indoors. Covid-19 continues to put a damper on some of our holiday expectations, but the team at Glow is working closely with Alberta Health to make this event as safe as possible. Face masks are required and hand-sanitizing stations can be found throughout the venue. High-touch areas (swings, reindeer bouncers) will be cleaned after every use. Tickets are staggered entry and must be purchased online ahead of time. You can read the full Covid-19 Restrictions and Policies here.

Glow also believes in the importance of giving back to the community and encourages guests to bring a donation on their visit. Drop your unwrapped new toy for the Toy Angels toy drive at Santa’s sleigh, or bring a non-perishable food item to contribute to the Edmonton Food Bank’s food drive. Your donations will help make the Holiday Season a little brighter for all Edmonton families!
