When we’re looking for an easy meal that satisfies everyone in our house, burgers and fries is often the answer. Sure, there are always the trusty standbys like McDonalds, Burger King, and A&W when you need something quick before the kids lose their marbles, but when you’re looking for something more unique, there are several hot spots around Edmonton that win my unofficial award for Best Burger restaurants.

Top 5 Burger Restaurants in Edmonton

Fox Burger

Fox Burger

Why it’s on my list: The toppings are spectacular. My go-to burger is the Bacon Pepper Smash because the pickled peppers are simply mouthwatering and the garlic fries hit the spot every time. Plus, in the summer they have one of the best rooftop patios in the city.
Why your kids will like it: Rumour has it that their kid’s hot dog is to-die-for (even if it isn’t a burger…).
Address: 6423 112 Ave NW, Edmonton
Hours: Monday – Thursday 4:30 pm – 9 pm; Friday & Saturday 4:30 pm – 10 pm

YEG Burger

YEG Burger

Why it’s on my list: There are just so many unique flavour combinations like a Donair Burger, Havarti Grilled Cheese Burger (with 2 grilled cheese sandwiches forming the bun!), and even a Breakfast Burger served with an egg sunny side up. My go-to, though, is literally called the Go2 Burger — a nice, traditional classic.
Why your kids will like it: 4 classic menu options for kids, plus, if they’ve earned a milkshake for good behaviour there are flavours like Nutella and Double Reese. Yum!
Address: 15131-121 St NW, Edmonton
Hours: Tuesday – Thursday 11 am – 9 pm; Friday 11 am – 10 pm; Saturday 12 pm – 10 pm; Sunday 12 pm – 8 pm

Jack's Burger Shack

Jack’s Burger Shack

Why it’s on my list: Flavour + affordability = WIN. With burgers starting at just $8 and an order of hand cut fries for just $5.75, a burger and fries here is definitely in the budget. Plus, I like the location in downtown St. Albert. Grab a burger with the family and then go out for a stroll through town.
Why your kids will like it: A simple kids menu that includes a soda with their meal! Or, you can upgrade to one of their famous milkshakes including flavours like Cap’n Crunch, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Darth Vader, or Malteaser!
Address: 15 Perron St #130, St. Albert
Hours: Tuesday – Saturday 11 am – 2:30 pm and 4 pm – 7:30 pm
Other Info: Their indoor seating options (when available) are pretty limited, but during the summertime there are several picnic tables available or you can even grab it to go and visit a nearby park for a picnic.

The Burgers Priest

The Burger’s Priest

Why it’s on my list: They’re passionate about redeeming the burger. For real. Sure, those crazy flavours at some of our other top recommendations are fun and tasty, but here, the flavour of good, quality beef really shines through which is why it’s landed on my list of top burger restaurants.
Why your kids will like it: While they don’t have a specific kids menu, the menu itself is friendly enough for kids. My kids are particularly big fans of the french fries here. And since I inevitably forget every time how huge the fry servings are, there are more than enough to share.
Address: 2 locations: 2125 98 Street Northwest, Edmonton and 10148 109th Street, Edmonton
Hours: Open 7 days a week. See website for specific hours for each location.
Other Info: They have a Secret Menu in addition to their regular menu!

Jack's Drive In

Jack’s Drive-In

Why it’s on my list: Did someone say ice cream for dessert?! This is a fun dinner out for the family — especially in the summertime. With ample outdoor seating, inexpensive prices, and ICE CREAM for dessert, the whole family leaves happy! Of all the options I’ve included, this one is also the most affordable — even with ice cream included! And oh yeah, they have burgers and fries, too.
Why your kids will like it: Did I mention, ICE CREAM? They’ll eat their dinner without complaint knowing that an ice cream treat is their reward!
