When the harvest is ripe for the picking, head out on a family adventure to one of these u-pick berry farms in the Edmonton area! I have some pretty sweet and sticky memories of taking my 3 small kids to a strawberry farm for the first time many years ago. We spent hours combing the rows to find the juiciest, reddest, biggest berries of the crop. Well, I did anyways. My preschooler and toddlers were more interested in chasing butterflies and hunting for bugs. Regardless, fun was had by all. We went home tired and happy, with an overflowing basket of fruit and memories that still make me smile to this day.
While our growing season in Edmonton is not as lucrative as some, we are still able to produce some juicy and delicious berries. Raspberries, Saskatoon berries, strawberries, cherries and more – YUM! These six u-pick berry farms in Edmonton, Sherwood Park and Spruce Grove offer u-pick for various berries, and some of them also offer vegetables or pre-picked options as well!
