The YMCA offers a wide range of programs for children and youth of all ages. Whether your kids love swimming, sports, science, art or dance, they’ll find a program at YMCA of Northern Alberta that will help them shine!
Aquatics Programs
YMCA aquatics programs teach children and youth the fundamental, life-saving skills in a safe environment where they’ll make new friends and have fun. YMCA swim lessons and clubs are available year-round for everyone, from tiny toe-dippers to deep-water divers. Skilled YMCA swimming instructors will help swimmers gain confidence and independence, offering lessons and instruction for kids and youth ages 0 to 15 years!
Sports and Recreation Programs
Stay moving this fall in YMCA sports and recreation programs! There’s an age-appropriate activity for everyone, all in a safe and welcoming environment. Sports and Recreation activities vary between all 4 Edmonton locations, but include basketball, floor hockey, multi-sport, soccer, Judo, volleyball, pickleball, badminton and more! With drop-in and registered programs for kids and adults alike, there’s a sports and recreation program you’ll love at the Y.
Arts, Culture and Science Programs
YMCA Arts, Culture and Science programs offer a wide range of activities for kids and adults alike. There’s a welcoming space for everyone to explore and express their creativity, from exploring inventions, experiments and nature in Science Explorers to learning the music, words and choreography in Musical Theatre.
Pre-school Programs
Even your youngest children can join in on the fun at the Y in both parented and non-parented programs! Multi-Sport offers kids 2+ a space to explore a new sport every week, learn important physical literacy skills and develop a new, life-long love for sports.
Teen Nights
Teens 13-18 can spend their Friday nights enjoying everything the YMCA has to offer! Teen Nights give youth in grades 7–12 the chance to get active, stay involved in their community and make new friends while enjoying recreational sports, fitness conditioning, group classes and more. It’s the perfect way to start their weekend!
Leaders in Training
The YMCA’s unique Leaders in Training (LIT) course is for teens ages 12–17. Over a 9-month program, youth will make friends and learn valuable skills together. Team-building activities, volunteer opportunities and workshops by local community leaders will teach relevant and practical skills for youth to inspire and help others around them.
