Did you think The Halifax Jazz Festival was just for grown-ups? Think again! Come down to the waterfront and chill out at one of the best Summer Festivals Halifax has to offer, with tons of FREE programs for kids. Now, that’s something to sing about! Here’s how to get the best out of the 2019 Halifax Jazz Festival with Kids:
Main Stage Programming:
The Jazz festival is FREE at the Main Stage (Lower Water St. and Salter St.) during the daytime with an atmosphere perfect for young and old alike. Last year, the Halifax Jazz festival offered a Kidzone with craft tables and fun activities, plus local vendors, bike racks, washrooms and seating. We’re hoping they’re going to do it again this year!
Relax at the Park Series – family-friendly jazz in the great outdoors!
Halifax Hydrostone Park: Saturday July 13th and Sunday July 14th 1:00pm – 5:00pm

SPLASH! BANG! BOOM! Aboard Theodore Tugboat:
How about some Jazz aboard Theodore Tugboat?
From Thursday July 11th to Saturday July 13th, with sailings at 10:00 am and 11:00 am, Theodore will sail around Halifax Harbour while the lively, entertaining and talented musicians Ross Burns (Thursday), Matt Gallant (Friday) and Siabhan Martin (Saturday), show everyone on board some basic rhythms using simple percussion instruments. This event is FREE. Please arrive early for boarding as space is limited, first come, first served. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and no pre-registration is accepted.
