Hey Halifax! Not sure what to do for Dad on Father’s Day, Sunday June 19th? Here are 5 great ideas for giving Dad a treat on his special day.
1. Road Trip down Memory Lane
If your Dad loves wheels or nostalgia – or both! – take a short road trip to Heritage Village, on the Eastern Shore. The 2022 Annual Antique Car Show happens on Father’s Day, June 19th, from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm

2. The Dad Market
Wondering what to get Dad for Father’s Day? The Mom Market Halifax is excited to announce something fun & exciting to celebrate everything DAD! Stop by the Halifax Brewery Farmer’s Market & have a brewski, take a tour & listen to some amazingly talented musicians. There will be over 30 local vendors all under the same roof, admission is free and there will be swag bags for the first 25 shoppers! Want to know the best part? Spiderman will be there! So, come ready for photos.
3. Father’s Day Lunch
Just outside of town, take the whole family to Hatfield Farm, in Hammonds Plains for a Father’s Day Lunch with a classic Hip O’ Beef served with all the fixins’, plus all-you-can-eat pizza and pop for the kids! The farm lunch also includes horse-drawn wagon rides, time in their Rubber Rodeo inflatable games room and petting pen. While you’re waiting for the wagon, check out the new playground in front of the main barn!
4. Sports!
This Father’s Day, bring the excitement and watch dear ol’ Dad jump out of his seat at a soccer game! The Halifax Wanderers will battle the Forge FC on their home turf, and it is expected to be an action-packed match. This highly anticipated event is sure to get you in Dad’s good books.
5. Hike
If your Dad loves the great outdoors, head to the Hike Nova Scotia website to find a trail near you. Or, pick up a copy of 25 Outdoor Adventures in Halifax: 25 exciting & little-known adventures… a guide book written by local travel-writers, Dale Dunlop and Ryan Barry. This would make a superb Father’s Day gift. If you’re in the Tantallon area, why not grab a java at the Bike n’ Bean, and take a short hike along The St. Margaret’s Bay Trail, one of our favourites.
Happy Father’s Day, Halifax!
