Each year, Nova Scotia Heritage Day honours notable Nova Scotians. This year, Nova Scotia Heritage Day is Monday, February 16th and will honour Joseph William Comeau. Throughout his life, he was a champion for the preservation and recognition of Acadian history and culture. Sackville Snow Days Festival

There are fun family events planned for this year’s Sackville Snow Days Festival, including a snowman contest, scavenger hunt, colouring contest, snowshoeing, and skating!  A great way to spend time with family!

Most museums are open on Heritage Day, so this would be a great time to check out one of the fantastic exhibits happening this month in HRM. Some locations have FREE admission on Heritage Day (Museum of the Atlantic and Museum of Natural History). Whether you are passing along your appreciation for the visual arts or hoping to teach your child about the world and all of its creatures, you will find something for everyone at a Halifax museum or gallery.

Take the Family Skiing
