The Halifax Shopping Centre is celebrating March Break in a big way this year with free activities that the whole family can enjoy. Each day throughout March Break, you will find a different event happening under the HSC skylight. From science experiments to art, superheroes to popsicles, there will be something for everyone at the shopping centre this break.
HSC is not only a place where you can find the latest fashions, but it is also a place where you can connect with your community and learn new skills. In recent years they have hosted some incredible workshops and events, and this upcoming March Break is no exception.
Monday, March 13th: Mad Science Experiments
10:30 am – 11:30 am: Mad Science Halifax will kick off March Break with an exciting science demonstration. Explore solids, liquids and gases, energy, as you learn about air pressure and the states of matter. Prepare for foggy dry ice storms, bubbling volcanoes and even a special Mad Science “burp” potion that will amaze you.
3:30 pm – 4:15 pm: Mad Science Halifax is hosting a workshop all about bugs. At the end of the session, participants will have an idea of what it’s like to be a creepy crawler as they see the world through a bug’s eyes. By examining insect specimens and models, kids will be able to identify common characteristics of insects and learn about how they contribute to the environment through the spread of pollen – including the HSC honeybees!
