In September, we decided to have some family fun in Moose Jaw. We booked a stay at the beautiful Temple Gardens Hotel and Spa. We have been there a few times as a family and we’ve always had fun. Growing up, we had many visits to Canada’s most Notorious city to visit my grandma so my heart has always had a piece of this city. My goal is always to share the love I’ve felt in Moose Jaw with my son. Moose Jaw has continued to change over the years but the beauty of it has remained. We’ve done many activities on our visits, including the Tunnels of Moose Jaw. We haven’t taken my son to them yet but it’s on our list for the next time we go. This trip was full of relaxation, swimming, shopping and visiting the Moose Jaw Western Development Museum.

We arrived Friday night and started our trip with supper at The Flats Eatery and had a fantastic meal before heading back to the hotel. My son loves swimming at the spa and could spend the entire weekend in the spa water. It’s family-friendly and he always has fun but we do spend a lot of time reminding him to be quiet because everybody is trying to relax. He did very well. Our first night was spent enjoying food and the water.

Mineral Pool Time

The next day, we took advantage of staying downtown and spent our time exploring the beautiful area. Of course, we started our morning with breakfast at Harwood’s Restaurant at the hotel. Not only was the food delightful but our server gave us great tips about what was happening that day in Moose Jaw.

Crescent Park

The first thing we did after breakfast was head out for a walk in Crescent Park. It’s a tradition for me because my grandma has a bench dedicated to her near the library so we always stop by to see it. The Moose Jaw Library is a beautiful building and a great spot to visit. We didn’t go in this time because the weather was so nice. We enjoyed the beautiful painted wooden structures in the park before heading to the Farmers’ Market set up between Crescent Park and Temple Gardens. The rest of the day was spent visiting the Mineral Pool and I took some time to do some solo shopping along Main Street.  I visited a lot of shops and enjoyed all of the beautiful murals in the area. They even have every single bench and garbage can painted.

Our last day in Moose Jaw included one more quick swim and a visit to the Moose Jaw WDM. This was a hit for my son. He loved all the different vehicles and we got to ride the train as well. There was so much to see in the museum, I’m pretty sure we could visit every time we go to Moose Jaw and still discover something new.

We had a very successful trip to Moose Jaw and loved our family trip. There’s always something to see and we can’t wait to return.
