Sculptures:

The 44th Winterlude will take place from February 4 to 21, 2022. On February 5 and 6 you can enjoy these masterpieces in person during the Winterlude National Ice Carving Championship. Ten experienced ice carving teams will compete simultaneously. They will have 20 hours to carve 15 blocks of ice and create a work of art inspired by the theme ‘’Olympic and Paralympic Spirit,’’ a nod to the 2022 Winter Games. You can vote on your favourite between February 11th and 20th.

Create your own personalized Inuksuk! Using Ice blocks to create Ice Inuksuks, families in groups of four can create their own version of these iconic symbols of Canada. The Inuksuks will be placed on the perimeter of the festival site creating a collaborative ice sculpture that will be lit at night. Sign up your team of four here!

Snow Carving Sculpture workshops are themed “the Olympic Spirit” and taught by Saskatoon’s own sculpture artist Patricia Leguen! Work with a group and be guided by Patricia to carve a snow sculpture. Sign up is required for a workshop and be part of one of WinterShines’ most engaging activities! All workshops will take place outdoors at Market Square – Avenue A and 19th Street.
