Prepare to be mesmerized by a holiday show that encapsulates the beauty of dance, acrobatics, and stunning costumes to inspiring music.  Lamondance presents “A Winter’s Twist” at two performance locations this December: December 5 in Abbotsford and December 17 in North Vancouver.

“A Winter’s Twist” is set in a winter wonderland and is reimagined by Lamondance as a contemporary spin on Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet.” Two star-crossed lovers meet under the moonlight: Romeo, a member of a Christmas-loving household who decks their trees out in the finest decor each year to ring in the holiday season, and Juliet, a daughter of a family that does not celebrate the holidays. Their families have been sworn enemies for centuries, but these two young lovers know that they cannot live without one another and decide to run away to a magical forest to escape their fate. Along the way, they encounter magical beings, comical creatures, and animals who show them the way to survive their surroundings. Will they find safety in this new world, or are they doomed to suffer the hatred of their families?

This fun, whimsical show is a breathtaking mixture of dance and theatre as each performer takes on a unique character, communicating the story through physical movement. Lamondance has been training exceptional dancers and creative visionaries since 2008. They have performed worldwide and foster a creative and inspiring space to provide professional pathways for early-career artists. Lamondance is committed to providing a supportive and inclusive space for the wider dance community, and the performance of “A Winter’s Twist” incorporates dancers from studios across Metro Vancouver to share the stage with Lamondance performers.
