Canlan Sports Summer Camps

Canlan Sports wants to get kids moving this summer. Ditch the screens, eliminate boredom, learn new skills, and get exercise every day. Not only will your pint-sized hockey lover spend their week working on hockey conditioning skills, but they will also be learning off-ice games and skill training as well.

If your child is just beginning to skate, don’t worry, there are camps for them! Canlan Sports meets kids at their skill level and truly moves them along with their skating skill development.

Canlan Sports’ Summer Camps run in 3 communities: North ShoreBurnaby, and Langley. Parents have the option of selecting full-day or half-day camps.

Hockey Fundamentals Camp – From balance to coordination, campers will gain the basic fundamentals to progress to the next level in their hockey development. This beginner-level camp develops basic skills that will well-prepare participants for future, higher-level training offered by Canlan Sports.

Hockey Development Camp– this camp is perfect for all levels of development. Campers will be grouped by ability and work on every aspect of the game from stickhandling to passing the puck and shooting.

Specialty Hockey Camps – Canlan Sports offers a wide variety of targeted camps geared to progressing participants further in their skills development and mastery of hockey. Here’s a sampling of the Speciality Camps offered by Canlan Sports.

  • Powerskating and Edgework Camp– enhance your skating prowess with this camp specifically designed to increase speed and agility on the ice.
  • Stickhandling Camp – improve the individual quickness of players who are seeking to advance their gameplay. Consistent repetition combined with player determination are the first steps to improving skating and puck control.
  • Elite Conditioning Camp-Using high-tempo drills that test your discipline, this camp will strengthen speed, stamina and endurance of serious hockey players.
  • Goaltending Development Camp-Improve your technique and overall ability in this camp designed to make campers better goalies. Focus will be placed on developing better angles, puck tracking and movement.
  • Shoot to Score- Campers will be taught how to improve their scoring ability by increasing existing skill and confidence around the net.
  • Defensive Skills Camp-Defense is so important, and this camp will teach proper positioning in the defensive zone, transitional skating and how to maximize the power in their shots.
  • Preseason Conditioning – get ready for tryout season. The specifically designed camp gets your child ready to be at their peak when taking to the ice during tryouts. With a heavy focus on conditioning as well as skill development, participants will undoubtedly come out faster, stronger and ahead of the competition!

Learn to Skate – Canlan Sport’s Learn to Skate program provides empathetic and supportive coaching to increase your child’s comfort wearing skates and moving across a sheet of ice. Through games and fun activities, participants will feel their confidence grow and their skills improve.

Multisport Camps– Many hockey players have said that the key to success is to develop skill in a variety of sports, and that’s just what your child will get in the Multisport Camps! Children will develop teamwork, skill and gameplay in sports such as tennis, soccer, basketball, kickball, ultimate frisbee, and ball hockey, to name just a few.
