Founded in 2009, Culture Days is a non-profit organization dedicated to building a national network of cultural connections that provides Canadians with opportunities to participate in and appreciate all forms of arts and culture. Culture Days raise the awareness, accessibility, participation, and engagement of Canadians in the arts and cultural life of their communities.

Youth Karaoke Night | October 2
Youth ages 12-18 are invited to take the stage, share their talents, and cheer on friends in a fun, supportive atmosphere. First-timers and seasoned performers both welcome in this fun and engaging atmosphere.
Intention Bracelets with Go Play Outside | October 3
In partnership with Go Play Outside, join Mack Widdows, an arts wellness facilitator and multidisciplinary artist for a creative and relaxing workshop that explores the connection between art and well-being. Using colourful beads and simple techniques, participants will create a personalized intention bracelet inspired by a goal, value, or positive affirmation.
Zine Making Zone | September 28 & 29
Write, draw, cut and fold to create one-page zines in a variety of formats. Whether it’s a poem, a letter, a story or a personal note, join the City of Burnaby for an afternoon of hands-on making and sharing. This family-friendly activity is suitable for ages 8 and up. Led by artist, writer and book-maker Logaine Navascués.
Bag on a Bike | October 3
BAG on a Bike, Burnaby Art Gallery’s mobile printing press, will be down near Shadbolt Plaza, celebrating all the cultural activities happening in Deer Lake.
Pajama Storytime | September 29
Tuck into a story, and celebrate Culture Days with a special Pyjama Storytime! Children and caregivers will be entertained with stories, songs, and rhymes all about art and culture. Kids are encouraged to wear their pyjamas and bring their favourite stuffie.
Uncovering Chinatown | October 3
Join Heritage Chilliwack for Uncovering Chinatown, a free Culture Days event celebrating an important chapter in Chilliwack’s Chinese-Canadian history. The event will feature the official unveiling of Heritage Chilliwack’s new Chinatown Heritage Plaques, with invited guests including City officials, community representatives, and members of families connected to Chilliwack’s historic Chinese community.
Guided Public Art Tour | September 26
Explore the murals, installations, and sculptures that enhance the City and commemorate important historical moments in the community’s development.
Family Days: Abstract Weather | October 3
Inspired by the exhibition Landon Mackenzie: Weather Patterns, families will explore how weather and nature can spark imagination in abstract art. Looking closely at colour, texture and layered marks, we’ll discover how artists translate wind, water and sky into expressive abstract paintings.
Let Off Some STEAM: Paper Lantern Fish | September 24
Come and get creative! Using paint, scissors and glue, participants will create fish out of paper lanterns. This event is best for ages 8 – 12.
Clay Worlds and Creative Characters | September 26
This beginner-friendly workshop introduces children to the exciting world of sculpture through air-dry clay. Students will learn three essential hand-building techniques: slab construction, coiling, and pinching.
Community Canvas: Free Arts Fest | September 19
