As everyone hunkers down we really applaud organizations like the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra for devising creative solutions to social distancing. Today, Sunday March 15th, everyone is invited to enjoy a FREE LIVE stream performance of the finale to this weeks’ BeethovenFest.
Today’s live stream performance is the finale of Beethovenfest. Here is the original description of the performance:
December 22, 1808 has been called the “most remarkable” night of Beethoven’s career. An astounding four-hour concert saw the premières of both the 5th and 6th Symphonies, the Choral Fantasy and his Piano Concerto No. 4 along with an improvised piano fantasy — Beethoven conducting and playing all of it. In this performance the VSO tackles the 6th Symphony “Pastorale”, Beethoven’s portrait of nature, and the sublime 4th Piano Concerto with special guest Saleem Ashkar.
