What camp will fit my child’s interests?
If your child is between the ages of 5 – 13, LWL Education is sure to have a camp that fits their interest! Their structured camp instruction model incorporates Literacy, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), and outdoor movement into each camp experience at every age and level. This means that kids are grouped according to age, and the curriculum is modified to ensure each student receives personalized instruction to meet them where they’re at in terms of skill and interest. Summer camps at LWL Education provide the ultimate in flexibility, offering a morning camp option (9:30 AM – 12:00 PM), an afternoon camp option (12:30 PM – 3:00 PM), or a full-day camp program (9:30 AM – 3:00 PM). Summer Camps are as follows:
- Language, Arts and STEM Camp | Ages 5 – 9
- Literature, Science and Public Speaking Camp | Ages 9 – 13
What will my child do all day at camp?
LWL Education knows that mornings can be hectic. That’s why the day begins with a flexible drop-off between 9:00 – 9:30 AM, where families can rest assured that running a few minutes late won’t impact their child’s participation in the class. Likewise, flexible pickup is available in the afternoon from 3:00 – 3:30 PM. These additional half-hour drop-off and pick-up times are at no extra cost to families.
Ages 5 – 9 | Following drop-off, campers will start the day with STEM Exploration to spark curiosity and collaboration before they shift into phonics and writing instruction. Learning blocks are scheduled in 30-minute increments to hold students’ attention and focus on building the skills that are most impactful for each individual child. Outdoor movement, storytelling, public speaking, and arts and crafts round out the rest of the morning’s structured activities. In the afternoon camp, the routine remains the same, but the content and activities change to ensure that students who are enrolled for a full day of camp rather than a half day are being challenged with new and engaging material.
Ages 9 – 13 | In this summer camp program, students will start the day working on a novel study and writing tasks, followed by public speaking practice. They will then head outdoors to burn off some energy before digging in to science instruction and hands-on learning opportunities. Each block of time is carefully structured to ensure campers aren’t at loose ends waiting for a task to complete, which means they are better able to make progress and meaningfully connect with others during the day.
LWL x Form & Function Fitness Studio | Blended summer camps are the perfect fit for kids with high energy who also want structured time to learn. Sister companies LWL Education provides the structured routine and learning, while Form and Function Fitness Studio gets the heart pumping and body moving with guided exercise. LWL instructors bring campers across the street to the studio for a well-balanced, engaging camp experience.
Kids ages 3 – 5 can also benefit from instruction at LWL Education with a special Summer Workshop. Summer Workshops run for 3 hours, with an option for morning or afternoon. Perfectly suited for growing minds, 90 minutes is spent on enrichment classes and learning, followed by 90 minutes of outdoor movement and social-emotional learning.
