Choo choo! All aboard for The Railway Museum of BC! Make this family-friendly destination a top priority on your Spring Break to-do list.
The Museum is hosting the Sea to Sky Model Train and Hobby Show on March 21 & 22, 2026, and you won’t want to miss it. Exhibitors and vendors will be on hand to answer questions and sell goods and products for train enthusiasts to take home. New and used model trains, diecast models, RC cars and trucks, and other toys will be available for purchase. Food, drink, and snack vendors will also be on-site to ensure you are well-fed and can stay as long as you need to explore and learn. Children (and adults alike) will enjoy playing with wooden and battery-powered train tables and learning to operate model trains with sound and animation. Train enthusiasts of all ages will love viewing detailed operating model railways from visiting model train clubs.
Rail fans of all ages will love seeing the crown jewel of the collection: the Royal Hudson 2860 Steam Locomotive, built in 1940 and in service until 2010, when it was restored for the Olympics. Visitors can climb into the Royal Hudson and blow the whistle as they imagine travelling down the tracks on this exquisite locomotive.
This year, there are even more bonus weekend activities! Ride the Mini Rail ($5 tickets) all weekend and enjoy FREE Behind the Scenes guided tours of the workyard. Don’t miss your chance to board the RDC BC-21 Budd Car Ride ($15 tickets) for a ride north of the Railway Museum onto a connecting spur of the CN railway and back again! The Railway Museum of BC is also a participant in the Access2 Program.
