The holiday season is upon us, and there’s no better way to get into the holiday spirit than a visit with Santa at Britannia Mine Museum! This year, mark your calendar for December 6th & 7th and December 13th & 14th when Santa arrives for a truly special event.  Take a journey through Toys of the Decades with a vintage photo setting filled with nostalgic toys from each generation’s childhood.

Step into Santa’s enchanting workshop at Britannia Mine Museum and create magical holiday memories. Visit Santa surrounded by decades of beloved toys, explore festive activities across the lower site, and let the friendly team at Britannia Mine help you capture Instagram-worthy moments with your own camera or phone. To celebrate the 50th anniversary, Santa visits and lower-site festive activities are free or by donation. Your generosity supports future community programs and is appreciated (though never required).

The Britannia Mine Museum has decked the halls with Christmas decor. Visitors will have access to all the incredible lower site exhibits at the museum, including Gold Panning, the dynamic exhibit Ore and Orcas in the Terra Lab where you can view specimens from the Howe Sound, including an orca skeleton.  Stroll along a festive trail lined with Christmas trees and explore the displays of toys through the decades from the 1970s to 2020s. Bring your camera to capture the perfect Photo with Santa. Helpful Britannia Mine team members will be on site to assist with taking photos of the whole family! Donations are gratefully accepted for Santa Photos. Advance booking for Santa Photos and the lower site festivities is not required; just drop by for a fun-filled day!

Want to experience the full splendour of Britannia Mine while you’re there? Purchase a ticket to experience the underground tour and the award-winning “BOOM!” attraction that brings the old mill roaring back to life.  There’s so much to see and do this holiday season at Britannia Mine Museum!
