Gateway Academy is committed to enriching the quality of life by creating outstanding theatre and a hub for the performing arts. As such, they offer summer camps in acting and musical theatre for kids 6 – 13 years of age. Students will play in the structure of theatre, using physicality and voice in an ensemble to share a story. Classes will harness your child’s creative powers and strengthen skills that are vital for vibrant self-expression, helping students develop their best selves.

Students enrolled in Gateway Academy Summer Camps receive instruction from professional working artists who are skilled in their craft and enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge and expertise with children. Kids will build their confidence while pursuing their passion for performing arts, filling their summer with learning and laughter. All camps and classes take place right inside Gateway Theatre, so students will experience the thrill of performing on a large, professional stage.

Take a look at the summer camps being offered by Gateway Academy. Musical Theatre camps study the three classic elements of musical theatre: acting, singing, and dancing. For the second year in a row, the popular Musical Theatre Performance Camp is back! In this two-week summer camp, students work toward performing a show with selections from popular musicals. This camp requires an audition, and provides a taste of how a full-scale show comes together. Students enrolled in Musical Theatre Performance Camp will also receive a special t-shirt. Gateway Academy Acting Camps focus purely on developing acting skills integral to all theatrical disciplines. Plus, NEW this year is a crossover camp called “Acting for Stage and Film.”

*Note: This is a two-week camp with a final performance at the end. As such, mandatory attendance is required for the Tech rehearsal, dress rehearsal, and the final performance. This summer, the Musical Theatre Performance Camp will perform excerpts from iconic shows such as Frozen, Annie, The Lion King, Matilda, and Wicked.
