Family Day is back! Our favourite holiday of the calendar year is celebrated on February 12th this year (but the family-friendly events happen all weekend long). Communities across the Lower Mainland are hosting family-friendly events. Enjoy the holiday, grab the kids, and go make memories as a family there are DOZENS of events to pick from over the February 10 – 12th weekend.

Family Day in Abbotsford: The City of Abbotsford is throwing open the doors of both the Abbotsford Recreation Centre and the Matsqui Recreation Centre for a full day of fun. Keep the kids entertained and exercised from 10am – 10pm for just $2 per person. Swimming, skating and more!
Family Day at the Britannia Mine Museum: The Britannia Mine Museum is celebrating Family Day with 50% off admission (Feb 13th)! Bring the whole gang to enjoy a fun filled day at Britannia Mine Museum.
Family Day Events in Burnaby: Pizza pool party? A Winter Festival? An outdoor hike? The City of Burnaby is hosting numerous Family Day events – some free, some with a minimal cost – on February 12th.
Family Day Pow Wow: Everyone is invited to the Family Day Pow Wow hosted by the Spirit of the People. The weekend activities include drumming, a family team dance, an owl dance contest & more.

Family Day Events in Coquitlam: The City of Coquitlam is hosting numerous Family Day events at their community centres. While the majority of the events happen on Monday February 12th, there are a few events happening in the days leading up to the official holiday.
Fraser Valley Family Day: The 3rd annual Fraser Valley Family Day is an event for people of all ages so bring your whole family and your friends too! The day will feature tons of fun activities for kids (face painting, balloon animals, bouncy castles and more)!
Family Day at the Fort: Come and learn the traditions of the families at Fort Langley – from varied backgrounds like Scottish, Hawaiian, First Nations and Metis to name a few, the workers embraced their cultures here!
Family Day Scavenger Hunt: Dust off your sleuthing skills it is time for a Family Day Scavenger Hunt! Enjoy a fun family scavenger hunt at the Langley Centennial Museum.
Family Day Fun in the City of Langley: Celebrate Family Day at Timms Community Centre. The gymnasium will be filled with fun games and activities for all ages. Activities will include a bouncy zone, craft zone, games zone, and parent & tot zone.
Family Day at the Zoo – throughout the month of February the Zoo offers discounts to people who visit during the week. On Family Day you receive 30% off the cost of admission.
Family Day at the ACT: Bring your family for a day of fun, FREE arts activities at The ACT! Grab your Adventure Passport when you arrive, and take a journey through the arts, getting your passport stamped along the way.
Family Day at the Mission Leisure Centre: Start early & play all day long at the Mission Leisure Centre. The day is packed full of FREE activities: swimming, skating, creative corner crafts, face-painting, gym activities (toddler zone, bouncy castle, parachute games), and more!
Family Day Events in New Westminster: there are a TON of FREE events to keep the kiddos entertained should you elect to spend Family Day 2018 in New Westminster. From FREE skates & swims to making their own lettuce garden, and from circus performances to magic shows and boat tours, the activity options are plentiful and perfect for all ages. Massey Madness Family Arts Fest: Everyone is invited to the Massey Madness Family Arts Fest on February 10th. The Massey Theatre is bringing an all-inclusive day of arts activities and live theatre performances for the whole family to enjoy.
Grouse Mountain Family Day: Grouse Mountain is embracing Family Day with gusto. Not only will Grouse Mountain be offering 50% off lift tickets for all BC residents, guests are also invited to take part in oodles family-friendly activities both on and off the slopes such as complimentary snowshoe tours, a by-donation pancake breakfast, games, activities & so much more.
Family Day at the Lonsdale Quay Market: The Market is thrilled to celebrate all local families this upcoming Family Day! Start the day with a pancake breakfast. It’s a Zoo at Lonsdale Quay…goats, sheep, lambs, chickens, rabbits and a miniature horse are part of the interactive petting zoo at the East Plaza.
65+ Family Day Events in Richmond: The City of Richmond is hosting an unbelievable number of events in honour of Family Day. The majority of the events are for all ages and are FREE! From pancake breakfasts to sporting activities, and from children’s festivals to classic music events, there is something that will peak everyone’s interest.
Family Day at the Cannery: Celebrate BC Family Day at the Cannery in Steveston, Richmond. Pick up a Parks Canada “Xplorer” booklet full of activities to do inside the historic cannery building, and receive a prize when you’re done. Tours and machine demos will also be offered throughout the day.
Family Day Events in Surrey: The City of Surrey has put together FREE family-friendly events at all of their community facilities. Enjoy a nature walk, a swim, arts & crafts, plus loads of sporting activities and games. The FREE fun happens on February 12th.
Historic Stewart Park: Family Day at the Stewart Farm will include pioneer children’s games, samples of baking from the woodstove, a chance to try farm chores, as well as a walk around the grounds of Elgin Heritage Park. The FREE fun happens on February 12.
Family Day at the Vancouver Aquarium: The Aquarium will be hosting a family sleepover on Sunday, Feb 11 called “PJs, Paws and Jaws.” Guests will learn about the fascinating ways that animals – such as seals or penguins – camouflage from their predators by paying a visit to see them outside.
Kids Take Over UBC: Celebrate Family Day weekend by bringing your entire family to UBC on Sunday, February 11. Kids and youth will take on adult-sized roles, working alongside staff and volunteers to participate and promote arts and culture at UBC.
