You can run, but you can’t hide! But that’s okay — there’s nothing too scary! In fact, the Dash of Doom, Calgary’s Halloween race, is filled with family-friendly fun on October 26, 2024. Plus, you’re running in support of the Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society (AARCS), which means the whole family, from kids to pets to Mom and Dad, are invited. Get warmed up and get those costumes ready for this family (and pup!) friendly Halloween race. The winners are not the top finishers, but the best dressed!

Dash of Doom is a Halloween celebration from Run Calgary. It’s Run Calgary’s only pet-friendly race and the best-dressed pooch will be featured on next year’s medals and shirts! Since 2015, the race has been in support of AARCS and has helped raise over $50,000. It includes a 5 km or a 10 km race, in which you can walk, run, or even use your mobility device. Plus, there is a 1 km kids’ event that’s so much fun to watch.

 

Run like you mean it or saunter along — no matter your style, there’s loads of family fun happening. Come before the race and check out the festival area. You’ll find Halloween activities, face painting, an inflatable slide, a Kids’ Craft Zone, and a photo booth to get free pictures of your excellent costumes. All participants can enjoy the activities for free, plus they’ll receive a custom long-sleeve shirt featuring the 2023 best dog costume winner, prizes for the best costumes, candy aid stations, and more. And all of it is in support of AARCS!

To improve sustainability efforts and create a little less waste, you can opt out of receiving a finisher’s medal for the 5 km and 10 km races. If you love to collect medals, you can do that, too! All kids in the Kids’ Race will receive a medal.

 

So gather the family, get those costumes ready, and do your warm-ups because you’ve got to get ready for the Dash of Doom! It’s a Halloween run to remember.
