Our calendar features several can’t-miss Country Fairs in August, followed by an exciting selection of annual Harvest Festivals in September. Late Summer and early Autumn are also the best time of year to catch the sunflowers and corn mazes in bloom, enjoy a visit to a local farmyard, or take advantage of local farms opening up their doors to the public during Alberta Open Farm Days! Country Fairs & Harvest Festivals
Head East to Enjoy the Vegreville Country Fair
August 6-10 | This 5 day Country Fair is celebrating it’s 152nd year with bit of everything including a midway, chuckwagon races, grandstand entertainment, horse shows, fireworks, and a Kids Fun Zone. It is a little less overwhelming then K-Days, but still offers up the full exposition experience!
Antler Lake Country Fair
August 9 | Head to the Antler Community Hall for live music, activities and entertainment for all ages. Kids can look forward to a petting zoo, miniature pony rides, bouncy castles, and games. For the grown-ups, there will be beer gardens and delicious fair food. Come out and have some fun!
South Cooking Lake Trail Days
August 16 | It’s time for the annual South Cooking Lake Trail Days! Come early for the pancake breakfast at 8:00 am, then enjoy a full day of fun including a parade, a car show, Country Market, kids’ activities, food trucks, beer gardens, history walk, and so much more.
Alberta Open Farm Days
August 16 & 17 | Alberta Open Farm Days is a province-wide event for foodies, farmers, and families. Albertans are encouraged to come meet their rural neighbours to share stories, see demonstrations, and learn more about the farmers who grow their food. Admission is free, though some farms may charge for extras, like corn mazes or wine tastings. Several of the events also require admission tickets to be reserved in advance so be sure to start your trip planning early through the Alberta Open Farms Days website.
Millet Harvest Fair with Outdoor Movie & Fireworks!
August 22 & 23 | Head to Millet Harvest Fair fun with the Millet & District Recreation and Agricultural Society! Friday night includes an outdoor movie and fireworks display at the Millet Lions Memorial Campground (5010 45 Street), and Saturday offers a full day of Country Fair fun including a pancake breakfast, parade, bouncy castles, penny carnival, gaming bus, food trucks, and fun with Flying Bob Circus! Millet is located 30 minutes from the south side of Edmonton.
Country Fun at the Rural Roots Fair
August 23 | Enjoy pony rides, duck herding, a petting zoo, bouncy castle and obstacle course, art activities, a watermelon eating contest, wagon rides, tool and equipment displays, live entertainment, and a Marketplace. Bring your appetite, too – there will be food trucks on site!
Wild Flower Farm Store’s Peach Fest
August 23 | The 2nd Annual Peach Fest at Steve and Dan’s Wild Flower Farmstore will feature The Orchard Seed Market with 30+ local vendors, a bouncy castle, photo ops, mini donkey and barnyard friends, live music, food trucks, a fundraiser in support of Ferne’s Acres Animal Sanctuary, and, of course, fresh BC peaches – grilled and served up free with delicious ice cream!
Vintage Tractor Pull And Show
August 23 & 24 | The Strathcona Vintage Tractor Association invites you to its 20th Annual Vintage Tractor Pull & Show. Highlights of the two-day event include over 100 tractors competing in pulls, antique equipment demonstrations, a classic car show, food trucks, a farmers’ market, and bouncy castles and wagon rides for the kids.
Spruce Grove Agricultural Society AGRA FAIR
August 23 & 24 | Discover Spruce Grove’s agricultural history with this full weekend of fun including a parade, pancake breakfasts, farm equipment displays, bench shows, pony rides, a petting zoo, old-fashioned games, and more.
Reynolds Museum Harvest Festival
August 30 & 31 | The Reynolds Museum Harvest Festival is the perfect opportunity to spend a fun Fall day with the family while learning more about farming practices and equipment through the decades. Come watch some of the museum’s impressive collection of vintage tractors and machinery at work, enjoy carnival games and a petting zoo in the Family Fun Zone, and have fun inside the museum with hands-on demos like rope making and bread baking. Woodbend Country Fair
September 6 | Join the fun at the Woodbend Country Fair on Saturday, September 6, 2025! The FREE event will include bouncy castles, face painting, games, balloon art, fire trucks, and a concession in support of the playground re-build project.
Leduc West Antique Society Fall Harvest Show
September 6 & 7 | This country celebration will feature farming demonstrations, tours of the historic buildings and vehicle displays, kids activities, the Provincial Tractor Pull Championships, and a Saturday evening concert
Arts & Heritage St. Albert Harvest Fest
September 13 | Celebrate the harvest season with Arts and Heritage St. Albert on Saturday, September 13, 2025. This afternoon of free family fun will include tours of the historic homes and grain elevators, a petting zoo, face painting, heritage games & crafts, live entertainment, and more!
Fall-O-Ween Festival at Prairie Gardens
September 20-21 & 27-28 | Kick off the spooky season fun with hayrides, corn and bale mazes, scarecrow making, pumpkin picking, farm animals, games, and plenty of fall fun just north of Edmonton in Bon Accord.
Stony Plain & Parkland Pioneer Museum Harvest Festival
September 21 | See threshing and blacksmithing the way they used to do it with vintage machinery. The day includes plenty of fun for all ages, including gold panning, old time games, animals, a tractor/vehicle parade, mini train rides, live music, and delicious treats for purchase at the on-site Tea House.
Kiwi Nurseries Pumpkin Festival
September 27 | Enjoy a day of Autumn fun at the Kiwi Nurseries Pumpkin Festival! Admission is just $10/participating child and includes a haystack search, pumpkin carving contest, crafts, outdoor games, and a free pumpkin to take home. Pick your own pumpkin out from the patch and be on the lookout for the golden pumpkin to win a special prize!
Harvest Gathering at Greenland Garden Centre
October 5 | Bring the whole family to Greenland for an afternoon full of good, old-fashioned fun. Enjoy hayride, corn on the cob, roasted marshmallows, kids’ activities, pumpkin carving demonstrations, and more. Some activities cost $2 in support of ‘A Safe Place’ Women’s Shelter.
