You’ve never seen a spray park like this before!

The ArrKann Spray Park and Playground in Ardrossan Regional Park is going to blow your barn doors off – pun completely intended!

The farm-themed spray park is vast and adorable, right down to its bright red barn. Water wasn’t flowing the day I visited, but it’s easy to see that highlights of this farmyard is the giant green tractor, tall brown horse and the water tower with it spout ready to pour water down on excited young cowpokes!

Child-sized yellow and brown hobby horse sprayers also caught my eye, as did the two tall, beautiful reeds in the centre of the park. No doubt a popular feature will be the water play station, complete with gears and blocking devices so kids will be able to control the flow of water down the trays.

The adjacent playground is also a popular space! Bright green and brown with green rubber playground flooring throughout, it continues the agricultural theme started in the spray park.

The wide variety of climbing features and tunnels caught my eye, as did the two twisty slides and the globe spinner, which is always a favourite with my own kids.

Parents will love the photo opportunities – particularly the Ardrossan Farms cutout. Snap a picture of your young farmer with the cow, horse and of course, farm pup!

The details are spectacular – from the mottled colours of the patched-together “fencework”, to the silo, plow and even corn stalks carved into the panelling, kids will feel like they’re putting in a long day’s work on the farm. Parents will love that the entire space is concrete, grass and rubber flooring – because we all know spray parks and sand make for a messy mix!

The ArrKann Spray Park and Playground is located just north of the Ardrossan Recreation Complex. A beautiful gazebo sits between the two playgrounds, and there are plenty of benches and picnic tables in the surrounding area, as well as inside the rec centre, and washrooms are available inside as well. The barn even features foot showers to rinse your feet before and after spray park play!
