Join Kids Run Wild and Edmonton Overlanders Orienteering Club (EOOC) for their popular drop-in orienteering events this summer! These relaxed, family-friendly sessions are just $15 per map (which can be shared) and are a great opportunity to get active, try something new, and explore local parks together. You don’t need any experience or special equipment, and there’s no need to commit every week. Just show up, pick up a map, and enjoy a new outdoor adventure with your family and friends!
What Is Orienteering?
Orienteering is an outdoor sport that blends physical activity with problem-solving as you learn to navigate terrain using a detailed map and compass (optional). The map shows the places that you need to visit, but how you get to those places is completely up to the participants. These Wednesday sessions focus on fun, family connection, teamwork, communication, and skill development, whether you’re brand new to orienteering or already comfortable reading a map. If it is your first time, EOOC members will teach you all the skills you need to get started.
