Inquisitive kids can learn more about Alberta’s history with Summer Camps at the Royal Alberta Museum! Each week-long camp offers opportunities to discover all things wild, try out ancient technology, and dig into the rich cultural and natural history of our province.

Summer Camps at the Royal Alberta Museum are open to kids in grades 2 to 6. Camp days will be spent exploring all their favourite museum exhibits and beyond! Not only will they get to see all the sparkly rocks, live bugs, dinos, and wildlife dioramas they know and love, but campers will also enjoy an in-depth look at how RAM operates. Days will be spent learning from the museum experts with behind-the-scenes activities, hands-on exploration of REAL museum objects and specimens, gallery storytelling, and plenty of crafts and games!

Summer Camps at RAM are available in your choice of 3 week-long themes, as well as two camps offered exclusively in French! Sign up for multiple weeks for extra fun and learning.

Mysteries at the Museum

Grades 2 to 6 | July 6-10
Campers become junior detectives as they explore hidden museum collections, solve puzzles, and investigate mysterious artifacts. Campers access behind-the-scenes spaces, examine real objects, and discover how archaeologists uncover history. Each week includes games, crafts, and outdoor play for a fun, hands-on adventure!

3e à la 6e année | 13 au 17 juillet
Le camp de jour, Les Secrets du MusĂ©e, recherche des Ă©lèves curieux et dĂ©brouillards de la 3e Ă  la 6e annĂ©e ! Avez-vous toujours voulu savoir comment fonctionne un musĂ©e ? Comment l’Ă©quipe prĂ©pare-t-elle tous les objets, des ossements et des fossiles aux uniformes et bien plus encore ? DĂ©couvrez ce qui se passe en coulisses et les secrets bien gardĂ©s dans les rĂ©serves du musĂ©e. Vous apprendrez comment les expositions sont créées, entretenues et comment l’Ă©quipe du RAM prend soin des objets et des animaux, vivants et naturalisĂ©s.

Junior Experts

Grades 4 to 6 | July 20-24 or July 27-31
This hands-on camp is perfect for curious students who want to explore the world of museums. Campers become curators, designers, and researchers as they investigate Alberta’s history, use museum tools, examine artifacts, and create mini-exhibits. Guided by museum staff, the camp offers behind-the-scenes adventures, plus games, crafts, and outdoor play each week.

Les merveilles de la nature

3e à la 6e année | 10 au 14 août
La nature regorge de merveilles, et c’est Ă  vous de les dĂ©couvrir lors de ce camp de jour! Passe une semaine au MusĂ©e royal de l’Alberta pour explorer, dĂ©couvrir et analyser les merveilles du monde naturel et celles qui nous entourent. Des fossiles, Ă  l’utilisation des ressources naturelles, en passant par les insectes et leurs secrets, et bien plus encore.

Wild About Animals

Grades 2 to 6 | August 17-21 or August 24-28
Discover all things wild at the Royal Alberta Museum! This camp week will feature animal discoveries from millions of years ago to today, from the depths of the oceans to our wide-open plains. Highlights of this camp include meeting real experts, caring for live animals, and uncovering amazing secrets of how animals thrive in their environments.

Register today through the Royal Alberta Museum website. Space is limited to just 15 children per camp, so secure your spot now. If you are a RAM Mammoth Pass holder, be sure to also read how you can take advantage of additional savings on camp fees!

Each camp will run daily from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM, with an additional half hour of pre- and post-camp care for convenience. Campers will be required to bring their own packed lunch, or can opt for a week of lunches provided by the Museum CafĂ© for $70. Campers should come dressed for the weather and prepared to have fun both indoors and out!
