While the school-aged kids enjoy costume fun and Halloween parties with their class, we have come up with a few fun ways to make Halloween day fun for the younger ghosts and ghouls. And once that school bell rings, you can be ready to grab those costumed kiddos and head out to one of the other fun events happening Halloween evening!

Halloween Day Fun on Thursday, October 31, 2024:

Trick or Treat a Kids Pack at A&W Restaurants
All day | Stop in to any free-standing (non-mall) A&W Restaurant on Halloween and kids 12 and under can receive a FREE kids pack! Choose from buddy burgers, chicken strips, or a hot dog. Limit 1 per child.

Trick or Treat a Small Slurpee at 7-Eleven Stores
All day | Stop into any 7-Eleven location in costume and to trick-or-treat a FREE small Slurpee!

FREE Kids admission to the Haunted Pumpkin Festival at Prairie Gardens
9:30 am – 6:00 pm | Kids ages 12 & under – dressed up in Halloween costumes get FREE admission all day on October 31. Simply purchase your adult ticket online and bring the kids dressed in costume.

Poison Caramel Apple Making with A Charmed Affair
10:00 am – 1:00 pm | Join the Evil Queen and Fairest Princess on October 31 for a little extra Halloween magic from A Charmed Affair! This enchanted experience includes Caramel Apple Making, trick-or-treating, and playtime with two iconic characters. Cost is $10/child.

The Makery’s Halloween Party
Sessions at 10:00 am & 1:30 pm | Ghosts and ghouls ages 3 to 10 can enjoy 2 hours of Halloween-themed S.T.E.A.M fun including sensory play, games, process-based art experiences, and more!

Dress-up Day & Giveaway at Mastermind Toys
10:00 am – 7:00 pm | Drop in to your nearest Mastermind Toys store in costume for a special Halloween giveaway!

See The Spooky Side of RAM on Halloween
10:00 am – 8:00 pm | All dressed up, but nowhere to go? Royal Alberta Museum (RAM) has Halloween spooky activities for ghouls of all ages including slime making, spider encounters, and touch n’ feel mystery bones!

Beaumont RCMP Safe Halloween
3:30 pm – 5:30 pm | Join the Beaumont RCMP in the Recreation Centre parking lot for Safe Halloween fun! Come in costume for this afternoon event, including treat bags, activities, prize draws, and safety tips before you head out trick-or-treating for the night.

Laser Halloween Spooktacular at TELUS World of Science – Edmonton
4:00 pm | Visit the Science Centre and enjoy a one-of-a-kind Halloween Spooktacular laser light show in the Zeidler Dome. This ghoulish music and laser show is included with regular admission and is sure to delight the kids with some extra thrilling Halloween fun!

FREE Thursday Spooky Graphic Novel Workshop at the Art Gallery of Alberta
4:00 pm – 7:00 pm |
The last Thursday of the month is FREE admission at the Art Gallery of Alberta. October’s event falls on Halloween night and will feature author Kelly Mellings giving a special presentation, reading and spooky character creation workshop based around his popular youth graphic novel Ghoster Heights. 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm | Stop into either Edmonton location to join in the candy hunt and get a free professional photo for digital download!

Halloween at Magrath
5:00 pm – 9:00 pm | Celebrate Halloween with Magrath at Concordia Campus. Come walk the eerie grounds of the historic Magrath Manor on Halloween night and enjoy some Trick-or-Treating fun!

Meet Jack Skeleton and Oogie Boogie at Maisie’s Magical Christmas House
5:30 pm – 9:00 pm | Make Halloween extra magical with a visit to this spectacular outdoor display in North Edmonton! Jack Skeleton and Oogie Boogie will be on-site for photos and added fun.

Trunk-or-Treat at VantagePoint Community Church
6:00 pm – 8:00 pm | Enjoy hot chocolate and hot dogs by the fire pits as the kids safely gather treats from trunk to trunk in the church parking lot.

Autumn Family Event with Trunk-or-Treating
6:00 pm – 8:00 pm | Spend Halloween night with Salvation Army-Edmonton! Reserve your free spot through Eventbrite to enjoy an evening of carnival games, crafts, balloon animals, delicious food, and trunk-or-treating.

Halloween Fireworks in Terwillegar
8:00 pm | Celebrate fright night with a Halloween Fireworks extravaganza in Terwillegar’s Tomlinson Park! Take a break from trick-or-treating and walk over to the east side of the park to enjoy the spooktacular show on Halloween night.
