Looking for free family-friendly activities in Edmonton this summer? Discover the new Young Family Programs at the Alberta Legislature, designed especially for caregivers with babies, toddlers, and preschool-aged children. These engaging summer programs offer age-appropriate tours, storytime, and interactive learning experiences that make visiting the Alberta Legislature fun and memorable for the whole family.
Throughout July and August 2026, families can register for Stroller Tours and Tots on Tour, held on Monday and Tuesday mornings. Each session lasts 30–45 minutes and introduces young children to the Alberta Legislature through accessible, educational, and playful activities.
Young Family Programs
Stroller Tours (45 minutes)
Perfect for parents and caregivers with babies in strollers or carriers, these small-group tours follow an accessible route with elevator access and include stroller-friendly stops and comfortable rest areas. Guides share engaging stories and facts at a relaxed pace, with plenty of time for breaks to accommodate young children’s needs.
Tots on Tour (30 minutes)
Designed for children ages 1–4 and their caregivers, Tots on Tour brings the Legislature to life through playful early-learning experiences. Explore the sights and sounds of the beautiful Legislature Rotunda on this sensory tour followed by family storytime.
Both tours are available weekly during July and August:
- Stroller Tours | Mondays, 10:30 am – 11:15 am (no tours on August 3rd or 31st)
- Tot on Tour | Tuesdays, 10:30 am – 11:00 am
