Halifax County Exhibition

Bring the whole family to the beautiful Musquodoboit Valley, NS, for Halifax County’s annual agricultural exhibition, an interactive and sensory-rich event for the whole family.

The Halifax County Exhibition, proudly run by many dedicated community volunteers since 1884, is an authentic country fair with a contemporary flair for fun! Happening August 13-16, 2025, this epic summer staycation will have you visiting a stunning rural community just outside HRM. Experience interactive demonstrations, the joy of being around animals, games for all ages, and toe-tapping music on an outdoor stage. Have fun with your family with entertainment for all ages!

The Halifax Country Exhibition is a significant showcase in the Canadian agricultural sector. They host the largest Dairy Show of Coloured Breeds East of Montreal (Friday, August 15th is Dairy Day), a growing beef show, and are one of only 3 remaining Draft Horse Shows in the Province. It’s not just about the animals either – come to the Ex to find the largest display of dahlias in the Province! Children’s’ Day and 4-H Day

Wednesday, August 13 is Children’s Day and 4-H day at the Halifax County Exhibition. Children 12yrs & younger get in FREE and there will be special activities the kiddos will love. You can also watch with pride as kids of all ages take over both outdoor show rings with livestock showmanship classes, as well as earning ribbons on their life-skills projects in the 4-H barn.

What is there to see and do?

Explore the exhibition grounds and take in the light-hearted contests & hands-on learning demonstrations of fibre arts, handcrafts, and homesteading skills. Outdoors, 2 show rings will be action-packed from dawn till dusk. There will be 4 livestock barns awaiting your visit, a variety of food and vendors, and a Home & Garden show that anyone can enter in pursuit of top prize! There will also be live music on stage every day for no additional charge!

To entertain the kiddos, there will be a parade (August 13, 1:30 pm), children’s bingo with loads of prizes, the farmer frenzy obstacle race, live entertainment, amusement rides, and barns to explore. Plus, have fun in the Kid’s Zone, play with the HRM Rec Van, and get creative making souvenirs with our friends from Halifax Public Library.
