Each year, Nova Scotia Heritage Day honours notable Nova Scotians. This year, Nova Scotia Heritage Day is Monday, February 20th and will honour Rita Joe, a Mi’kmaw poet from Eskasoni and We’koqma’q First Nations. Sackville Snow Days Festival
There are fun family events planned for this year’s Sackville Snow Days Festival including a snowman contest, scavenger hunt, colouring contest, snowshoeing, and skating! Snow days do not specifically link with Heritage Day, but it’s a great way to spend time with family.

DELIGHTFUL DOWNTOWN Halifax’s Heritage Day Light Show
Delightful Downtown is a series of vivid light shows and installations around Downtown Halifax. It includes colourful, themed light projection shows that help light up our dark winter nights.

Hatfield Farms Family Day Round Ups

P.E.I Canada Winter Games’ Speed Skating at the Oval
The Prince Edward Island (PEI) Canada Winter Games’ long-track speed skating events will be taking place from Feb. 18-25 at the Emera Oval. Although closed for public skates, all are welcome to attend these events and cheer on the world-class athletes performing in our region.

Most museums are open on Heritage Day, so this would be a great time to check out one of the fantastic exhibits happening this month in HRM. Many locations have FREE admission on Heritage Day. Take the Family Skiing
