Each year, Nova Scotia Heritage Day honours notable Nova Scotians. This year, Nova Scotia Heritage Day is Monday, February 19th and will honour William Hall- 2024 will mark the 165th anniversary of Hall being awarded the Victoria Cross. He was the first person of African descent and 3rd Canadian to be presented this distinguished award. Sackville Snow Days Festival
There are fun family events planned for this yearâs Sackville Snow Days Festival including a snowman contest, scavenger hunt, colouring contest, snowshoeing, and skating! Snow days do not specifically link with Heritage Day, but it’s a great way to spend time with family.

Ataraxy Farm Family Fun Day
Ataraxy Farm will be hosting its first Family Fun Day this year on Heritage Day. Head to the farm to see the animals, get a pony ride, decorate some goat shaped cookies and enjoy a hot beverage.

DELIGHTFUL DOWNTOWN Halifax’s Heritage Day Light Show
Delightful Downtown is a series of vivid light shows and installations around Downtown Halifax. It includes colourful, themed light projection shows that help light up our dark winter nights.

Meet Your Farmer Day
