It’s time to celebrate Canada Day, and many special events are happening in Halifax and Dartmouth.

Halifax Citadel National Historic Site: Enjoy free entry from 9 am-5 pm and Canada Day cake at 11 am.

Canadian Museum of Immigration: There will be special activities all day and free entry from 9:30 am-5:30 pm. Read more about it here.

Royal NS International Tattoo Canada Day Parade: There’s a parade through downtown Halifax at 10 am, and there will be band performances on the Halifax waterfront from 10:30 – 11:30 am. Read more about the Tattoo here.

Mawio’mi on the Halifax Waterfront: From 11:30 am – 1 pm, enjoy Mi’kmaq-inspired music and a cultural demo.

Canada Day Drumming Celebration: At the Dartmouth Ferry Terminal Park you can watch the Canada Day Drumming Celebration from 12:30-4 pm.

KANA’TA: Canada Day 2025 Main Event: Atlantic Canada’s annual FREE concert on the Halifax Waterfront Sands at Salter main stage from 3-11 pm

Ansma Canada Day Concert: Also at the Dartmouth Ferry Terminal, you’ll find the Ansma Canada Day Concert from 7-10 pm.

Canada Day Fireworks: End the day with fireworks over the harbour at 10 pm!
