This winter has been hard-hitting, with numerous big storms and snow days.  Hopefully, there are only a few more weeks of the white stuff, but until then, why not make the most of it with the 3rd annual WinterThing, brought to you by the Windsor Township Business Association.  Starting in 2024, WinterThing is about creating spaces for friends and families to make memories and welcoming strangers to become friends!

Activities will take place all around the downtown area. Take a stroll and explore what’s happening at the Windsor Community Centre, Dill Park, Star Bride Park, Coca Cola Alley, and the Waterfront Gazebo. There will be FREE face painting and balloon animals, bake sales and BBQs, live music, yoga in the park, and a sunset drumming circle! You can warm up by the firepits, roast a marshmallow or two, or grab a free glow stick after 4 pm! Downtown shops will have their own WinterThing specials and activities to check out, too. Don’t forget to snap a selfie along the way – there will be lots of photo opportunities!

Volunteers are still needed to bring this exciting winter event to life, especially fire pit watchers. If you have a work team or a group of friends, this is a fantastic way to do some community volunteering. Shifts will be 2 hours (or longer) and you must be 18 years or older to volunteer.

Windsor is less than an hour’s drive from Halifax, making it a perfect winter road trip! Come to WinterThing on March 7th to celebrate the winter season while exploring Downtown Windsor!
