On a VERY cold day in Saskatchewan, we decided to go to a new dog park at Pups Playground Unleashed. I’ve spoken about our love for dog parks before. Saskatoon is home to many parks for your furry friends and we’ve tried out quite a few but this one is different. It’s a beautiful location between Martensville and Warman that offers one-hour private bookings with your pups. You pay to use this dog park because it’s an entire park for just you and your family. I wasn’t sure about paying to go to a dog park but I loved the idea of having a private park all to ourselves. My dog loves meeting other people and finding new dogs to play with but I was excited about taking my big and lovable pooch to his own park. To be honest, it’s also a great idea because my son doesn’t realize that he can’t always pet every dog we see. He always asks before petting them but is still learning that not all dogs have to like him. It seemed like a great idea to find a place for us to walk without worrying about anybody else. It was time to spend with just my family. It took me no time at all to discover that this place was one hundred percent worth what I paid for the walk. The layout was amazing and everything around us was fantastic! It was freezing out but to quote frozen, “The cold never bothered me (us) anyway.”

They have it all set up to ensure privacy. Upon arrival, we check-in first and then get the dogs out of the car. The owners are very nice and explain everything. They suggest bringing poop bags but they do have extra bags for you if you need them. The dog park was VERY clean so people must be making good use of them. My doggo and kiddo could not wait to get in and explore. This dog park is amazing. It has trails plowed for walking but you can also go off-trail and explore everything around you. They have two different planes on site! I wasn’t sure why they had so many amazing items around but I finally figured out that this used to be a place to play paintball. It makes for a unique and fun dog park!

My dog lost two of his four booties (I have them all now) but he was having too much fun exploring and running to be bothered. He did not stop bouncing in excitement. He tried to stick to the trails but if my son and I were exploring other spots, he made sure to come with us.

Our eyelashes turned white and so did our hair but we didn’t care. I could only take one photo at a time because my hands couldn’t be out of my mitts for long. We had so much fun picking trails and finding new things.

The bookings are for an hour per visit. Today, that was just enough time. My pup got to the gate and he was ready to go. He waited, somewhat impatiently, for my son to stop rock collecting and leave with us. Although we had a fabulous time, we were definitely looking forward to warming up in the car with our hot chocolates.

We had such a great time and we are already planning another visit in March. Hopefully, on a day that’s not quite so cold.
