The Secret Garden Retreat Summer Camps

Are you looking for a non-religious sleep-away camp designed specifically for your thoughtful and imaginative child? The Secret Garden Retreat Summer Camps are perfect for those children who want a camp experience, but are weary of traditional summer camps. If you have a child who loves nature and creating, The Secret Garden Retreat Centre offers campers a space to explore beauty while building confidence during their week at camp. Camp is located about an hour out of Saskatoon in Arelee, Saskatchewan. Children and parents will be in awe as they discover The Secret Garden, from the historical church to the landscape of flowers and prairie grass.

Children ages 9-12 will be in a nurturing space, giving them a chance to be curious and creative. The Secret Garden Retreat focuses on kindness, respect and care for one another. While children discover nature in a peaceful environment, they will find new friends as they embark on a new summer adventure. Campers will assist with select responsibilities, such as recycling and tidying up to promote responsibility. Camps will alternate each week between Secret Garden Explorer camp and Artists and Writers: Creatives Create camp.

Artists and Writers: Creatives Create Camp

If you have a child who is a bit introverted and feels a little shy, Creative Create Camp will give them a chance to create with artistic freedom and a safe space to express themselves, and play through art! Campers will find a calm and supportive environment as they write or draw their own book, while having workshops with guest authors and artists. Each day will include some physical activities, classic films, and evening campfires.

Secret Garden Explorer Camp

Campers will find both education and fun as with leaders who are professional educators and student teachers. Campers will spend their days building birdhouses, playing games, and spending time outdoors, while also keeping their brain active through daily social activities.

The Details

There will be a maximum of 12 campers per week. Campers will stay in cabins or cute individual tents in the main hall according to gender, decided after numbers have been finalized. Parents can drop kids off between 9 to 9:30 AM on Monday morning, and pick them up on Friday by 3 PM. There will be one short week that runs Tuesday to Friday. Camp leaders have had current criminal record check and first aid/CPR training. Families needing financial help can ask about available sponsorships.
