Learn about the history of BC that shaped our way of life through stories, interactive workshops, and community events. The theme for 2026 is “Stirring the Pot,” with many of the events featuring elements of food and nourishment.
Heritage Tea On The Train | Port Moody Museum
Take a journey into the past with a fun tea and appetizer event! Imagine yourself as a passenger in 1921 on the Venosta, a first-class train car. Learn about the history of rail travel in the 1920s and enjoy the provided tea and appetizers. It’s fun for the whole family! Tickets go on sale to the general public on January 19th.

Detective Skills & Historical Photos | Online Event
Kids in grades 4 – 7 will love learn about how historians solve mysteries in this special online workshop honouring BC Heritage Week and Black History Month. Join a Digital Access Specialist at the BC Archives for a behind-the-scenes look at the scrapbook of Selena Smith, a Black Canadian 19th-century musician and teacher. Explore historical calling cards, musical programs, and letters to uncover her remarkable life through primary sources.
