Braveheart. Robin Hood. Game of Thrones. There is something magical, dignified and just plain fascinating about being able to properly wield a bow and arrow. During the last Olympic Summer Games, it wasn’t swimming, diving or track & field that fascinated my kids, it was archery! Since the Rio Olympics my boys have been asking for archery lessons. I needed to wait for them to get a bit older and physically bigger before signing them up. But this summer they can’t wait to take part in the Boorman Archery Summer Camps.

The Boorman Archery Summer Camps run 4 days per week for an hour and a half per day. The camps are geared for kids aged 9 – 18 years old. The certified instructors provide opportunities for the kids to try both Recurve and Compound Bows. Attempts are made to score a target, and the camp focuses on teaching basic skills needed to become a safe and consistent archer. For kids who already have some archery skills, the instructors are ready and eager to provide tips and strategies to improve your technique.

Don’t worry about needing to rush out a buy a bow and arrow (seriously, where do you even buy that sort of thing?!) The Boorman Archery Summer Camps provide all the necessary equipment. The 4-day archery camps are $95 + GST per person.
