Just because school wraps at the end of June doesn’t mean your little one needs to stop learning, exploring and indulging their curiosity. Registration for the Bricks 4 Kidz® Summer Camps is now open. The camps are popular; you will want to sign up quickly!
Are you new to the world of LEGO® and the Bricks 4 Kidz company? Let me fill you in! At some point, your life will be filled with LEGO®. The colourful blocks, the endless creativity, the ability to create then destroy and then create again, appeal to all children. The Bricks 4 Kidz program takes a mountain of LEGO® and creates a fun environment of learning and exploration. An added benefit of the Bricks 4 Kidz camps are the proprietary kits and professional model plans which are not generally available to the public; these camps have access to kits no other LEGO® camp can match.
Through the Bricks 4 Kidz program, kids (aged 5 – 13 years) are introduced to engineering, architecture and robotics principles. The camps explore all four STEM concepts: science, technology, engineering and math. That ticks a lot of my boxes for a great kid-program!
Not only are the kids developing skills in the sciences, they are also working on their social skills in the group setting (patience, teamwork, and communication). The kids must follow directions and solve problems all while honing their gross and fine-motor skills. The Bricks 4 Kidz camps have numerous activity stations which include traditional bricks, motorized technic models, LEGO® art mosaics, creative free play and themed games and challenges.
This year the Bricks 4 Kidz team has launched a number of new themes for their summer camps! Here are a few we think are super appealing:
Remote Control Mania – kids aged 5 – 12 years will learn to engineer their own model making the creations move via wireless remote controls. If you kid is in love with all things “RC” then this is the summer camp for them!
Transportation Timeline – using motorized technic LEGO®, kids aged 5 – 12 years will get an indepth understanding of the inner workings of a hand mixer, windshield wipers, and a conveyer belt. Campers will get to work with gears, levers, pulleys, axels and more!
Extreme Expedition – form a team and compete in the LEGO® version of the amazing race! Travel around the world searching for bricks and other resources necessary to construct a base in the Himalayan Mountains. Only the bravest campers will survival the obstacles and challenges set forth in the Extreme Expedition!
Space Adventures – the folks at Bricks 4 Kidz share tips & tricks from real LEGO® Master Builders. Campers will use their new skills with the NASA-inspired motorized technic builds to learn about space exploration. While an oxygen tank isn’t necessary, this camp will be an out-of-this-world experience!
