This holiday season, skip the usual Christmas lights tour and head straight for the stars with an event that is out of this world! The H.R. MacMillan Space Centre is the place to be for a unique holiday experience that visitors, young and old, won’t soon forget.

Step into the 360° Star Theatre, an immersive experience where families can sit under the vast plantarium screens and watch exciting films showcasing the best developments and stories in astronomy. Families can choose the show, and time, that fits best for their afternoon from the following: Messengers of Time and Space (1:00PM), World of Ice (2:00PM), Big Astronomy (3:00PM), One Sky Project: Dreams of the Stars (4:00PM). Each show will also include a special 10-minute stargazing session in none other than the North Pole! Find the North Star and take a look at the stunning skies in the North Pole.

Once you’ve had your fill of the stars and skies, join in for special holiday fun! Head to the Cosmic Holiday Craft corner to make some stellar ornaments to hang on your tree, head to the Cosmic Courtyard to watch live science demonstrations, and be sure to visit with Santa himself! Snap a festive photo with the big man in red as you whisper your Christmas wishes for him to take back to the North Pole. There are limited spaces available for Santa’s valuable time, so show up early for your first-come, first-served spot. Don’t forget your camera to snap a photo to commemorate this special day!
