The holidays are a time to connect with friends and family, spend quality time together, and make new memories. This holiday season, give the gift of experience with tickets to enjoy the annual Traditional Christmas performance at the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.  When was the last time you saw a performance from the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra?  There is something magical about taking children to watch classical music live, as they connect the sounds they hear with the musicians they are watching. The strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion come to life, and children, whether they are registered in music lessons or not, can directly see and appreciate what hours of hard work and practice look like.

The Traditional Christmas performance by the VSO, with host Christopher Gaze, is the best way to get into the holiday spirit this year! Gaze will regale audiences of all ages with his storytelling as the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra delights with traditional Christmas carols, Christmas music sung by soloists and special guests, and carols performed live by the VSO. The whole family will delight in hearing nostalgic classics reverberate and the littlest guests will appreciate the lively music and warm atmosphere. Don your Christmas best and make an afternoon or evening out of it as you jumpstart your holiday experiences and begin a new holiday tradition with your family.

This year, catch the VSO’s Traditional Christmas performance at a venue that is closest to you. The Michael J. Fox Theatre hosts this Christmas extravaganza on December 6th at 7:30pm, followed by 2 performances (4:00pm & 7:30pm) at the South Delta Baptist Church on December 7th. On December 8th Traditional Christmas comes to Centennial Theatre with performances at 4pm and 7:30 pm, and the Bell Performing Arts Centre on December 9th (4pm & 7:30pm).  December 16th, the VSO brings their stellar performance ‘home’ to the gorgeous Orpheum Theatre for the final performances at 4pm and 7:30pm. With so many dates and locations to choose from, there is ultimate flexibility to ensure your holiday traditions can endure.

If you aren’t able to attend the Traditional Christmas performances, tickets to another concert, including the popular KidsKoncerts are always a hit. An afternoon listening to incredible music and learning about the different instruments that make up the orchestra makes for an ideal outing for kids, teenagers, and the whole family.
