Now is the time to empower children and youth to stand up for what they believe in and learn how to use their voice to make the changes they want to see in the world. If your child is interested in being a changemaker, a lawyer, or just learning about the law, rights, and advocacy, then summer camps at the Justice Education Society will be right up their alley! With over 35 years of providing public legal education and information, this non-profit society has introduced over 1 million students to the legal system to raise awareness and empowerment.

This summer, the Justice Education Society is offering two different camps to keep your pre-teens and teens engaged, thinking critically, and building valuable skills for their future.

Day Camps for Young Leaders:

Children ages 10-13 can enroll in one (or both) of the Day Camps for Young Leaders. Each camp is unique and encourages students to use their voice, understand their rights, and learn how to take action to support a brighter future for all. In each camp, students will build communication, leadership, and teamwork skills as they work to solve real-world issues and challenges. Day Camps for Young Leaders run from 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM and are run by educators, law students, and legal professionals who are all passionate about empowering youth.

Day Camps for Young Leaders offers the following options:

You Be The Judge! | June 29-30 or August 4-5, 2026

What is a law, and why do they matter? In this camp, students will be introduced to the basics of the Canadian justice system, including what a law is, why they matter, and how they come into being enforced. In addition to a visit to a real courthouse, students will participate in a fun and interactive mock trial. At the end of this day camp, youth will understand how they can help build a safer, more equitable future for all!

Legal Detectives | July 2-3 or August 6-7, 2026

In this day camp, youth will learn about how evidence is collected, analysed, and used to crack a case. They will explore how evidence can also be challenged and used (on both sides) in a court of law. Campers will search real-life cases to look for clues, meet and ask questions of legal professionals, and visit a real courthouse to observe cases being tried. Young legal detectives will also explore what it means to have “rights,” what their rights are, and what to do if their rights are violated.

Camp Justice:

Youth looking for a more immersive camp can join the week-long Camp Justice program for ages 14-19. In this legal boot camp, students interested in pursuing law or becoming changemakers will be fully immersed in the justice system. With direct instruction and mentorship from legal professionals, students will learn to negotiate, build their legal knowledge, understand more about the legal system, and watch courtroom proceedings! Bursaries to attend Camp Justice are also available for students who qualify for financial assistance. Camp Justice runs for a week from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM each day, and with 6 weeks to choose from, there is something that fits every teen’s summer schedule!

Register today for a unique camp that provides students with the real-world skills required to make the world better. Full bursaries and half bursaries are available for families facing financial hardship, and the application is quick and easy to fill out, ensuring every child has the opportunity to access these high-quality and extremely worthwhile summer camps.
