The world needs helpers, and few helpers are as essential as medical professionals who keep our communities healthy and safe. For parents raising curious kids who love science, problem-solving, and helping others, one question often comes up: how do we spark that interest early, in a way that’s meaningful and fun?
This summer, Vancouver families have an exciting new answer.
Medics Camp, a woman-owned Canadian company founded in the greater Toronto area, is a unique STEM-accredited program focused on medical science, and is launching its first Vancouver location hosted by Renaissance Academy of Learning. Designed to immerse kids in the world of healthcare through hands-on STEM learning, Medics Camp gives campers the chance to experience what a week in the life of a healthcare professional can look like in fun and creative ways.
A Proven Program New to Vancouver
Medics Camp has been inspiring young learners across Canada for 10 years, offering medical-themed summer camp programs that blend health science education and first aid skills with creativity, teamwork, and real-world problem-solving. The program is also proud to be STEM.org Accredited™, placing it in the top 10% of STEM programs worldwide.
Parents can expect:
- Expertly designed, age-based, learner-driven curriculum
- Engaging, hands-on activities rooted in real medical science
- A focus on curiosity, creativity, and collaboration
- Real medical equipment and specimens
Programs Available in Vancouver
Medics Camp offers day camp programs for children ages 6-12, with campers grouped by age to ensure the best possible learning experience. Program themes Discover and Explore can be attended in any order. They are stand-alone programs; no prior experience is required to enjoy them.
In Discover Theme, campers explore the basics of how the human body works and how healthcare professionals help people stay healthy. Through interactive games and simulations, children are introduced to a wide range of medical careers from family doctors and pediatricians to nurses, dentists, pharmacists, and physiotherapists.
Campers will:
- Learn proper handwashing and infection control
- Explore how the heart, lungs, and immune system function
- Practice essential first aid concepts like CPR and choking.
- Examine real anatomical specimens, such as a pig heart and cow bone
Programs are divided into:
Mini Medics Level 2 (ages 6-8)
Junior Medics Level 3 (ages 9-12)
Dates: July 6–10, 2026
The Explore Theme program is designed for campers who want a more in-depth look at the human body and medical problem-solving. Children investigate multiple body systems, including the brain, digestion, skin, senses, kidneys, and nervous system, while stepping into the roles of specialized healthcare professionals.
Campers will:
- Conduct hands-on science experiments
- Solve medical-themed challenges as a team
- Practice different first aid concepts from Discover
- Perform mock surgical procedures
- Learn about caring for animals and pets
- Strengthen critical thinking, teamwork, and communication skills
As with Discover, Explore camps are offered in:
Mini Medics Level 2 (ages 6-8)
Junior Medics Level 3 (ages 9-12)
Dates: July 13–17, 2026
