The City of Surrey is once again hosting the Party for the Planet in person! BC’s largest Earth Day celebration happens at Surrey Civic Plaza on April 30 from 11am – 7pm. The Surrey signature event features a dizzying array of performers including: Post-Modern Connection, A-SLAM, Andy the Musical Scientist, Josh Bogert, Harrison Lee, and many others.

The Party for the Planet has activities everyone in the family will enjoy: plant sale, environmental workshops, speaker series, food trucks, clothing swap, plant giveaway, and contests!

Be sure to check out the Marketplace which will be packed full of vendors with sustainable products. Some of the vendors include: Moutain Mornings, The Refill Shop, The Honeybee Centre, Windigo Beeswax Wrap, Debs Bags, JL Collection and more.

2022 marks the 11th year of this beloved festival. We are so happy it is back in person for this year.

Extra support for kids who feel overwhelmed: The City of Surrey has partnered with the Canucks Autism Network to offer sensory-friendly kits for anyone looking to accommodate sensory processing needs during the event. These kits, which are stored in a drawstring backpack, include noise-cancelling headphones, sensory toys, picture symbols, and social stories that narrate what may happen during the individual’s emergency.  They will also include a communication board so that someone can point to a body part or an image of a feeling to help communicate with the first responders.  The kits will be located within Surrey City Hall in Room 1 West as located on the event map.
