Many people look forward to the slow days of summer, the quality time outside, and full days of fun at summer camp! While everyone’s summer days look different, some children and youth depend on the services and support offered at school. Children and youth with autism and diverse abilities want to have a summer filled with fun, too, and Pivot Point Family Growth Centre ensures an inclusive space so all children can have a blast at summer camp!  Pivot Point summer camps are the perfect space for students to come together with others in their community and explore, learn, and connect. Their focus is on supporting educational, psychological, and behavioural needs while tailoring services to the unique needs of each individual family.

At Pivot Point summer camps, your child will receive care and instruction from qualified activity leaders. With locations across BC offering a variety of summer camp options, families can select the community closest to them and rest assured that their child will make meaningful connections, have fun, and most importantly, be fully cared for according to their unique needs. Every camp incorporates social skill development, building friendships, developing a growth mindset, and increased self-awareness and self-respect in a safe, fun and respectful environment.

All-day camps run from 9 am-3 pm. Each camp runs for a full week, and camp offerings depend on location and dates.

Summer Day Camps at Pivot Point:

Culinary Kids | Agassiz, Chilliwack
If your child is a budding chef or just wants to learn their way around a kitchen then this is the camp for them! Campers will learn basic cooking, baking, and kitchen skills throughout the week. With their experienced instructors, students will plan and prepare delicious recipes to continue their culinary journey. During the weekly camp, students will also learn safety, teamwork, and creativity.

Theatre Sports | Agassiz, Chilliwack, Cloverdale
Unleash your imagination with Theatre Sports this summer! Campers will draw from their interests in adventure series, such as Minecraft and Dungeons and Dragons, to develop a story, act out the plot, or play out the story on a game board. Basic improv skills such as role-playing will be introduced so students can practice group presentation opportunities that build self-confidence, allow for creative self-expression and increase problem-solving skills.

STEAM Challenge | Agassiz, Chilliwack, Cloverdale
Students in the STEAM Challenge camp will explore the five disciplines: Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math as they participate in completing a series of challenges, such as building balloon catapults. These challenges increase teamwork, communication, and critical and creative thinking.

Eco Adventure | Chilliwack, Cloverdale, Mission, Port Coquitlam, Vancouver
Explore the great outdoors with Eco Adventures Day Camp! In this camp, participants will explore different locations throughout their community. In groups, campers and staff members will collaborate to plan the activities for the group that day. Campers will stay active and engaged while hiking, challenge gaming, exploring local parks, beaches, streams, geocaching and exploring. Through these activities, students will increase their mindfulness in nature, build their social skills, and deepen their love of the outdoors.

Stories and Crafts | Chilliwack, Cloverdale, Maple Ridge
If your child would prefer to hide inside and read all day long, then this is the summer camp for your child! This guided reading camp will provide time for students to dive into a novel of their choice, then take breaks to read parts of their chosen novel out loud and discuss the ideas with staff and other campers. Using crafts, students will take a deeper look at the stories to learn about the characters, setting, and plot.

Student Success | Chilliwack
Is your child a bit nervous to enter kindergarten? Prepare them this summer with a day camp that introduces small groups of young students to the classroom environment in an encouraging way. Campers will learn the basics of structure and routine including circle time, storytime, and group play activities. Students will also learn how to have fun with words, numbers and make positive social connections.

Many of the day camps are available in either online or in-person formats so campers of all abilities can experience the activities. Check each day camp location and offering here to see what format it is offered in.
