“When you walk into a school, any school, you get a vibe. Is this a warm and welcoming place? Is it a happy place? We were determined that whatever we did, we would try to make a school that was warm and welcoming to the kids and to the parents.” Fernand Bouvier, founding member of Place des Arts.

Place des Arts has been offering quality, accessible arts education programs since 1972. Over the years, many words have been used to describe the Place des Arts vibe: warm, welcoming, vibrant, inspiring. But chief among them is the word home. Whether your child’s interest lies in visual, literary, or performing arts, Place des Arts is home to the arts community in Coquitlam and beyond.

Place des ArtsIn 2020 Place des Arts pivoted quickly and started offering online classes during the lockdown. They recognize not all families are ready for in-person learning so they are continuing to offer online classes for this upcoming year. Place des Arts is offering both classes and private lessons that are strictly in-person, others that are strictly conducted via Zoom and some that are hybrid in-person classes that will be live-streamed at the same time.

To get started on your arts journey with Place des Arts we recommend you take time to view their Program Guide. This online interactive document gives families all of the answers to questions they may have regarding classes being offered at Coquitlam’s renowned arts education centre.
