When I was little, my sister planted a single sunflower seed in our garden that she received in a birthday goodie bag. Wouldn’t you know it – that tiny seed grew and grew and grew until it towered above our house. We still have the photo of her sitting on a tall ladder, directly parallel to the roof, with the sunflower high above her head. Each year, the number of sunflower fields in Metro Vancouver dwindles, but there are still a few exceptional locations to wander through towering fields of golden blooms to snap your special photos. Whether you’re visiting for the Instagram-worthy views, picking your own flowers, or simply soaking up the sunshine, a trip to a sunflower farm is a must-do family adventure for late-summer days and evenings.
