Well hello June! The family-fun activities ramp up during the warmer months. We’ve picked a mere sampling of the great events eager to entertain people with kids-in-tow. If you need more ideas, head on over to the Family Fun Vancouver calendar!

FREE Swimming in Surrey (ongoing until the end of the summer) – the City of Surrey has 8 outdoor pools and they offer FREE swimming all summer long. A few of the pools opened mid-May, the rest of them open throughout the month of June.

Vancouver Children’s Festival (May 31 – June 13) – the fun may have started in May but we couldn’t leave this Vancouver staple off our June events list. This year, fourteen professional performing artists from as far-reaching as Denmark, Ireland and the United Kingdom are scheduled to perform 65 shows.

Pitt Meadows Day (June 4) – Pitt Meadows Days is back, and in person, for 2022. The fun includes a pancake breakfast, a parade, a kid zone, and a salmon BBQ dinner!

Doors Open Richmond (June 4 & 5) – The 15th annual Doors Open Richmond returns this spring as a free, in-person and online event from June 2 to 5, 2022. This year’s edition features 35 sites, including 21 that will welcome visitors in person.

Food Truck Festival – Chilliwack (June 4 & 5) – come hungry to the Food Truck Festival in Chilliwack. There will be 20+ trucks to enjoy along with food and entertainment. Admission to this event is free.

VSO Kids Koncert (June 5): Have you taken your little ones to the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra’s Kids’ Koncerts?  The concerts are a great opportunity to successfully introduce children to the world of classical music.  The Kids’ Koncerts are designed for children aged 4 – 11 years.  The concerts are 45 minutes in length and feature the ENTIRE Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.

Hats Off Day (June 18) – the merchants in Burnaby Heights are taking their Hats Off for their community & customers. The day is packed full of family-friendly activities.

Playland (opens June 18) – With over 30 rides and attractions, Playland has something to offer guests of all ages. Thrill-seekers will love the hair-raising rides including The Beast, Atmosphere, Hellevator and the iconic 1958 Wooden Roller Coaster. More fun can be had at the Midway, the Climbing Wall, Pacific Adventure Gold, The Glass House and the Haunted Mansion.

BC Family Fishing Weekend (June 17 – 19) – The BC Family Fishing Weekend is back! During the 23rd Annual BC’s Family Fishing Weekend, June 17 – 19, 2022 (which is also Father’s Day weekend) Canadians can fish LICENCE FREE on both salt and fresh water (certain rules and regulations do apply).

Father’s Day (June 19th) – Happy Father’s Day to all the wonderful dads, step-dads, grand-dads, dads-in-training, dads-flying-by-the-seat-of-their-pants, and everyone else who is helping nurture the next generation. Are you in need of a Father’s Day activity? Check out our list here.

Greek Day (June 26) – Greek Day on Broadway is back in person for 2022. Come hungry as the food is out of this world!
